We want to share our passion and curiosity about the Swedish’s nature and tastes, while maintaining harmony. You are welcome to gather, try and cook with the ingredients which you can find on the Island.
At Salthamn you are welcomed by the wild, you will find yourself sitting on the fields of ramson and being surrounded with gnarled pines and the glittering Baltic Sea.
Salthamn is a secret and a quiet place, where you can become one with nature. It is an oasis where you can taste what we harvest from the wild. We find these treasures in the forests, sea, meadows and all-around us.
The calcareous soil and the mild maritime climate and a lot of sun lead to a rich growth of many natural goods. In a Gotlandic pantry you can find goods that can also be found in the Mediterranean figs, asparagus and Bourgogne truffle.
Depending on the season, we gather and cook with ingredients we find in the wild or farms. They include herbs, wild garlic, spruce shoots, nettles, berries – the list of edible things we can forage is long, and we promise that you will have a unique culinary experience.
